For any person considering booking a course of motorcycle instruction this summer, please bear in mind the following 'catches' we keep hearing of from students short changed at other training schools:
Catch 1: The 'session' DAS course. Here, the student pays the same rate as for all day training when infact the 'session' extends to less than 4 hours instruction a day. It also means your likelihood of failing is dramatically increased because you have received inadequate tuition.
Catch 2: The 'lunchtime' CBT. We would like to remind learners that it is completely impossible to receive the statutory training demanded by the DSA and finish a CBT by lunchtime. Not only is this practice against DSA rules, it is highly dangerous as the learner has not received the instruction they have paid for. It also speaks volumes about the school's ethics and respect for your safety.
Catch 3: DSA DAS regulations clearly state that if a person purchases a DAS course then all instruction must be conducted on a maximum ratio of 2:1. Beware of day 1 and 2 being stuck on 125cc machines in groups of 4. In the event of an accident, it is highly unlikely that you are insured.
